Join choir to sing a brand new 'passion'
Dear PhD candidates,
Willibrord Huisman, employee of the educational department OO
and music enthousiast, has requested us to bring the following to
your attention. If you have some experience in singing in a choir,
this invitation may very well be of interest to you.
The 'Lastpostkoor' asks you to join them, to rehearse and
perform the first parts of a newly written passion. Althought the
texts and the rehearsals are in Dutch, foreign PhD candidates are
welcome to join as well. You will not have much difficulty in
reading and singing the notes as they are quite classical. Where
necessary, choir members will help you with translation and
pronunciation.
The aim of the project is to present this passion in a concert
on March 24, 2013. Rehearsals are every Monday from 20:00-22:00 in
the Student's church, Erasmuslaan 9A. Willibrord Huisman is the
composer and conductor.
The work itself is in fact a contemporary choral narration of
the passion according to Matthew; both the texts and the music are
new, meant for young people who like to sing. The title 'De
lastpost' means 'The troublemaker'. You can see and hear the scores,
